The purpose of the guide is to raise awareness of the issues relating to developing land near existing high voltage transmission lines. It looks at the impact of lines on development, and how development can adversely affect the lines themselves.
The guide provides examples of what to do/what not to do, and discusses planning and safety issues and illustrates ways to avoid and mitigate effects. It is aimed at planning practitioners, local authorities, developers and land owners.
