Maungatapere bus security upgrade

The Maungatapere 110 kV bus supplies much of the Northland 110 kV and 50 kV transmission network (Maungatapere, Kensington, Dargaville, Kaikohe, Kaitaia, Maungaturoto and Wellsford). Presently, a 110 kV bus fault at Maungatapere will cause a total loss of supply to these substations.

Marsden Substation Upgrade

Transpower has proposed installing duplicate bus zone protection and bus couplers on the Marsden 220 kV and 110 kV buses so that a fault on either bus will not lose the Marsden 220/110 kV interconnection.
